Pi Sigma Alpha
Pi Sigma Alpha is the national political science honor society.
Criteria:
- Junior or Senior with 3.0 overall GPA
- 3.0 GPA in political science coursework
- Must have completed 12 political science hours

Mentoring Program - Pi Sigma Alpha coordinates the departmental mentoring program. Tutoring is available for both majors and non-majors in American Government 2210. Study groups available upon request.
Brown Bag Symposia - offered by Pi Sigma Alpha to all majors. Speakers are invited to provide information on internship opportunities, applying for law schools, faculty research, or advising changes.
Tennessee Tech Pre-Law Club
Tech’s Pre-Law Club is open to any major who is interested in pre-law activities. The Pre-Law Club participates in many exciting activities on campus each year.
The Tennessee Tech Pre-Law Club offers informational sessions for regional law school forums. In state, Belmont, Memphis, and the University of Tennessee, Knoxville send representatives to Tech at least once a year with some visiting regularly. The Pre-Law Club also offers a PowerScore LSAT study prep session (at a discounted rate to dues-paying members of the Pre-Law Club), with instructors who have scored in the top percentiles on the LSAT, coming to our campus at least once a year- more sessions can be available depending upon student registration.
For many years, Tech Pre-Law students have competed in the AMC3 (Annual Moot Court) statewide Moot Court competition which has been added to the TISL (Tennessee Intercollegiate State Legislature) fall program. Tennessee Tech has done exceptionally well. Students- from various majors- have won the state competition, Top Lawyer, Top Petitioner, and the Attorney General selection. Tennessee Tech Moot Court is one of the winningest program in the history of AMC3 Moot court. See www.amc3.org

Model UN of Tennessee Tech
Model United Nations (also referred to as Model UN or MUN) is an academic simulation of the United Nations. Participants role-play as diplomats of the country assigned to their team, taking on roles as delegates as they investigate international issues, debate, deliberate, consult, and then develop solutions to world problems alongside fellow members of their mock committees.
Model UN of Tennessee Tech attends a Model UN conference each spring, in accordance with POLS 3100: Model UN, which teaches the students how to draft position papers, give speeches, and build a close-knit team that will uphold the strong reputation laid out by those who represented the university in years past.
