August 10, 2021 Update

Update on YuJa Migration

We know the fall semester is quickly approaching. Due to issues during the initial migration, we are still working on migrating from Kaltura to YuJa.  Our original export had duplicates and only some of the videos were migrated to YuJa. We are working with YuJa to conduct a second import that we are confident will bring in the rest of the videos.

Kaltura Links in iLearn

If you have links in your course to Kaltura videos, they will continue to work through the full migration process. Once the second import is complete, we will send out another update, and at that point, you can link to the new location in YuJa. For those who had courses identified for re-linking, the re-link process will take place once the second migration is complete.

Media Gallery

Kaltura’s Media Gallery was removed after the summer semester. If you used Kaltura’s Media Gallery and did not link to the videos in the Content area of iLearn, you can create a Playlist folder for your students once the migration is complete, and link it in the course. If you need assistance, please let us know.

YouTube Videos

If you linked to YouTube videos, you will need to re-create the YouTube links in YuJa or link directly to them in the Content area of iLearn. To learn how to link YouTube videos in YuJa, follow these steps

Viewing Migrated Videos in YuJa

To see what videos have been migrated to your YuJa account, go to iLearn and select YuJa Media in the top navigation bar. You will see a Default Collection folder under the My Media area. Open this folder, and there should be a folder with your username on it with videos.

NOTE: This is only true for people who created their account over the summer prior to the current migration. If you didn’t create the account prior to the migration, you will not see a folder in your account. To request your videos be added to your account, please complete the following request form. We will get them moved as soon as possible.

Accessing Kaltura Videos

We have removed the Kaltura integration from iLearn (My Media and Media Gallery), but you can still access your videos. To access your videos, go to https://media.tntech.edu and log in with your Tennessee Tech credentials. Once logged in, select your name in the upper right and choose My Media. If you would like to download your videos from Kaltura, you can follow the linked instructions.

Please note, if you recorded both your screen and a webcam in Kaltura, it will only download the main source video, which is the one that appears the largest when viewing. If you recorded the videos on your computer, you might still have a copy on the computer. To find the Kaltura videos on your computer’s hard drive, follow these instructions.
