Financial Aid


There are two main types of scholarships that you could receive. The major difference between the types of scholarships is the source of the scholarship money. The first type are awarded by Tennessee Tech University (TTU) and are called university scholarships. To apply for these, or for more information, visit TTU's scholarship web site. The second type of scholarship that you could receive is called an outside scholarship or an external to Tennessee Tech scholarship. These are any scholarships not awarded to you by the university.  Examples include community scholarships such as those from your church, your high school or a Rotary club. These can also be scholarships or reimbursements from your parent's employer or from your service with AmeriCorps. For Federal Work Study (FWS) and University Academic Service Scholarship Recipients

Federal Work Study Assignments—If you have a Federal Work Study assignment you will need to obtain a current I-9 card. If you have a federal work study assignment and do not have a current I-9 card, please bring the proper documentation to the Tennessee Tech Human Resources Office, located in Derryberry Hall, Room 156.  To find out what documentation you need, please look at page 3 of the I-9 form, located at this link:  I-9
Students with an academic service scholarship ONLY will not be required to show an I-9 card.

Current Scholarship Being Offered by the Army ROTC Department

TNTECH-Military Science Scholarship:

To be eligible for this scholarship, students must meet the following criteria: Incoming freshmen must have a minimum 21 ACT (1060) with a minimum 3.0 GPA.  Currently enrolled students must have less than 60Tennessee Tech hours with a 2.75 GPA.  The student must be enrolled as an eligible Cadet in Tennessee Tech's Army ROTC Program.  The scholarship is renewable for up to 60 hours, given the student maintains a 2.75 GPA and remains enrolled as an eligible Cadet in the Army ROTC Program.  For more information regarding this scholarship, ROTC enrollment eligibility, or to complete an application, contact the Army ROTC Department's Recruiting & Admissions Officer at 931-372-3574 or 800-365-3574.
