Tennessee Tech iMakerSpace Graduate Assistantship
About the Assistantship
The College of Engineering has established a graduate assistantship to support
student activities in the Tennessee Tech University iMakerSpace. The one-year
graduate assistantship will start at the beginning of the Spring 2023 semester, and
is renewable based on student performance and availability of funds. This
assistantship will provide experience with modern additive and subtractive
manufacturing tools, workshop equipment, interaction with students from various
disciplines at Tennessee Tech as well as student clubs and faculty using this
facility.
Expectations
As part of the assistantship, you will be responsible to maintain a safe,
collaborative and efficient environment for all students and faculty using the
iMakerSpace. This includes, but is not limited to: Maintaining all iMakerSpace
equipment, assisting students, staff, faculty in using the equipment to fabricate
projects for academic related or other approved needs, maintaining safety of all
participants in iMakerSpace, supporting outreach and related programs.
Eligibility and Qualifications
Candidates must be enrolled or accepted to a M.S. degree program in good
standing in the College of Engineering. They should have an interest in learning
new technologies and topics, and should have experience with 3D modeling
software, slicing software, 3D printing methods and techniques; have good
interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
