The Millard Oakley STEM Center for the Teaching and Learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics is a state-of-the-art STEM-education facility at Tennessee Tech in support of a campus-wide initiative to enhance existing models and develop new educational strategies in STEM-related fields.

Educators we are glad to announce a summer like non-other. The Oakley STEM Team has been working hard to bring you workshops, professional developments, and establish professional learning communities starting this summer and moving into the future. STEAM workshop activities for students grades 1‐8
Join us for free STEAM based, age appropriate, inquiry learning activities focusing on Earth and Space Science July 16-20. Students and families will be problem solving their way through scenarios with an emphasis on living and traveling into space with use of NASA and PBS Kids curriculum. 3...2...1... Blast Off! Rocketeering on Friday with STEAM based learning. Students and families will travel through the process of the Engineering Design Method to build a variety of rockets that can be recreated at home. Morning sessions are from 9 a.m. to noon. Afternoon sessions are from noon to 4 p.m. NOTE: A parent or guardian is expected to attend with the student(s) Students may not be left unattended. Monday through Thursday are repeated sessions, students should ONLY register for one event. Friday Special Event session open to upcoming grades 1st‐8th and repeated on Friday afternoon.
