Located in Clement Hall, Room 208, the Clay N. Hixson Student Success Center has grown exponentially since first becoming a resource for our college of engineering students in the fall of 2013. Our services have expanded from simply offering free peer tutoring and advising to now include a team of academic advisors, supplemental instruction groups, scholarship administration, student organization oversight and funding, creation of outreach programs, student recognition and awarding, senior exit exam administration, the student ambassador program, and organization of events such as Family Weekend and Community Day for the college of engineering.
The mission of the Clay N. Hixson Student Success Center is to recruit a diverse population of well-rounded, academically talented, and creative students; to provide support, encouragement, and resources for our students; and to recognize students’ accomplishments as they work toward reaching milestones on the way to becoming 21st Century Renaissance Engineers.
Open Monday thru Friday, 7 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
We hope to continue this growth as we search for ways to help our students on their way to becoming 21st Century Renaissance Engineers. We invite current students to visit our center where we provide, not only tutoring, but also a quiet study atmosphere. We invite prospective students to contact us to schedule a visit and learn more about the college of engineering. We invite high school administrators to schedule a visit to your school through our Makers on the Move program. We invite business and industry to contact us about contributing their skills to our Professional Development Program.
