Scholarship and Grant Information

Below are links to information about scholarships, internships, travel grants, and research funding available through TN Tech for undergraduate and graduate students. 

Undergraduates can apply for the following scholarships (and many others) by completing an application that is located here. 

Bartoo Endowed Scholarship
The original scholarship was established by Dr. Harriet Bartoo (Barr-toe) in memory of her husband, Dr. Dorr R. Bartoo, a former chairman of Tennessee Technological University's Biology Department. The recipient is chosen by the Biology Faculty and is given to the most outstanding junior or senior biology major. The scholarship is based not only on scholastic ability, but also on personal attributes, student and community involvement.

Dr. and Mrs. Lester Dudney Biology Program Endowment Scholarship
This endowment was established from the estate of Dr. Lester R. and Mary P. Dudney. Dr. and Mrs. Dudney desired that the fund be used to support environmental education and protection of wildlife.

Farley Memorial Biology Endowed Scholarship
Dr. Farley, a native of Putnam County and a Tennessee Tech graduate (B.S.), served as Associate Professor of Biology at Tennessee Tech from 1966 until his retirement in 1986. During his years at Tennessee Technological University, he taught anatomy and physiology, parasitology, virology, and other courses and was active in a number of professional organizations at both the state and national levels.


The following grant and internship programs are available to undergraduates. 

URECA Grant Program
The URECA (Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity) Grant Program provides monetary assistance for undergraduates who pursue research and creative activities at Tennessee Tech. Click here for more information. 

CISE Grant Program
The CISE (Creative Inquiry Summer Experience) Grant Program provides monetary assistance for paid summer internships that help students develop research and creative inquiry skills. Click here for more information. 

Scholarships for graduate students are limited, but are available. Graduate students use the same scholarship application as undergraduate students, which can be found by clicking here. 

Gordon Bennett Pennebaker Memorial Scholarship in Biology (for Master's students)
The Gordon Bennett Pennebaker Memorial Scholarship in Biology was established to recognize excellence and merit among the graduate students in the Biology Department of Tennessee Tech University.

Bob and Gloria Bell Endowed Scholarship (all graduate students eligible) 

 


College of Arts and Sciences Graduate Student Travel Support
The purpose of this fund is to support travel of Arts & Sciences graduate students to conferences and professional meetings where they present the results of their research, or to participate in professional activities that enhance the visibility of our graduate programs.
