College of Engineering

Welcome to the College of Engineering

Engineers, computer scientists and engineering technicians are problem-solvers that use their creativity to build the machines, develop the software and processes that run the technology we use every day. Our goal is to prepare our students for careers that help shape the future and solve societal problems.

Major objectives for the education of an engineer at Tech are the mastery of mathematical, scientific, and professional knowledge that contributes to the various fields, and the acquisition of experience in decision making through the analysis and resolution of engineering problems. An engineer must also be aware of the social, ecological, and economical concerns of society, and maintain high ethical standards in work. Senior-level classes concentrate on team design, construction, or operations while some are involved in research, development, and education. Our graduates earn jobs may be with governmental agencies and with privates firms. Most engineers ultimately function as managers or supervisors with some becoming CEO’s.
