Student Government Association - Student Leadership Awards

Student Leadership Awards

A Student Government Association initiative in partnership with Omicron Delta Kappa and the Office of Fraternity & Sorority Life

Our Goal

Student leaders are essential to our campus community. They contribute to a vibrant campus life, help advance the University’s mission, and engage their peers in countless meaningful ways. The Student Leadership Awards program exists to recognize and celebrate these contributions.

In partnership with Omicron Delta Kappa (ODK) and Fraternity & Sorority Life, the Student Leadership Awards program aims to:

  • Recognize Excellence — Formally acknowledge outstanding student contributions.
  • Highlight Service — Celebrate students dedicated to serving the University and their fellow students.
  • Inspire Others — Showcase examples of impactful leadership across campus.

We encourage the campus community to participate by nominating deserving student leaders or applying for an award. Let’s celebrate the dedication and impact of TTU’s student leaders!

Please consider applying for an award or nominating a student today. For questions, contact sga@tntech.edu or engagement@tntech.edu.

SGA Nominations

The following awards are determined solely through nominations. Students, faculty, and staff are encouraged to nominate individuals who exemplify these qualities.

  • Unsung Heroes – Students not serving as their organization's president or chief officer are eligible for this award, which recognizes work "behind the scenes" to make organizations and programs better.
  • Changemaker Award - This award recognizes individual achievements in advocating for a cause, working toward community growth and improvement, and/or seeking to advance peace and human dignity.
  • Spirit of Tennessee Tech Award - This award recognizes students' overall contributions to the Tennessee Tech community and their embodiment of Tennessee Tech school spirit and values. Nominees will not be judged based on the positions they have held, but their impact on others and their positive influence on the University.
  • Student Organization Advisor of the Year - Students may nominate a volunteer Faculty/Staff Advisor who has made a significant impact on their organization. Only advisors who serve voluntarily (not as part of their job description) are eligible; students should confirm volunteer status before submitting.
