The Student Organization Life Opportunity (S.O.L.O.) Fund
What Is the S.O.L.O. Fund?
Created by students, for students, the S.O.L.O. Fund is Tennessee Tech’s dedicated student‑fee account that finances campus‑wide events and powers registered student organizations (RSOs). The Fund is composed of two distinct pools:

How Is It Funded?

*The increase in 2018‑19 gave the fund greater buying power for national‑caliber talent while preserving our ability to financially support RSOs.
Oversight & Allocation
- The S.O.L.O. Funding Committee - the Treasurer and six Senators - reviews every General Fund request and reports recommendations to the Senate.
- Senate approval is required for awards over 50 % of the $2000 cap or for any “exceptional‑benefit” request.
- The Center for Student Engagement manages purchasing to ensure regulatory compliance.
